In 2014 I began using Kovea stoves, supplied via Mercator Gear.  The stoves include Kovea's SupaLite Titanium stove (there are 60g and 56g versions), and their Spider remote canister stove.  The SupaLites are extremely light, durable, and low-bulk, compared with similar stoves.  They also have wide pot supports, making them impressively sturdy for their size.  The Spider is of a sturdy, stable and durable construction.  I used the Spider for the first time whilst being support and trail crew for a multi-stage adventure race in Iceland, and it clearly shone as a great piece of kit.  Both stoves have excellent fine adjustment of gas flow, which is useful for both fuel efficiency and cooking (the latter for those occasions when we use a stove for more than just boiling water!).

Mercator Gear also supplies lanterns and cook sets, and I look forward to experimenting with more of their range over the coming years, and in all corners of the world.  This kit will be tried and tested by me in Canada and Alaska, across Europe and Africa, and potentially in Asia over the coming years.

I give lectures and courses around the UK on subjects relevant to endurance athletes, coaches, personal trainers and therapists.  Details of these can be found here.
